Trio of Canvas Tags with Brusho by Ewelina

Hello! Ewelina here today, I'm so excited to share with you my first project for Colourcraft!

Since May is the month where we introduce ourselves, I decided to go for my 'staple' look - layers upon layers of media and colours. As a  base, I used canvas tags - they are so much fun and the fabric texture adds to the mixed media feel of the project.

So, here is my process...

Start by running Heavy Gel Medium through a stencil - this was to 'colour proof' parts of the canvas.

Once the gel medium is dry, sprinkle your chosen Brusho powders on the tags (I used:  and  ) - spray with water and dry with a heat gun.

Can you see the places where the gel medium was stencilled on?

With black Archival ink, stamp various designs on the tags - this is to add another layer of colour and dimension.

While the ink is drying, colour the chipboards with Terracota Brusho (I added more powder in some areas while drying to make them darker).

To add colour to the metal embellishments, cover them with white paint (I used High Impact from Tattered Angels) and sprinkle Brusho while the base is still wet; add a bit of water and heat-dry. I scraped some paint off with a palette knife to reveal the silver underneath.

Now that all your elements are ready, time to start the assembly.

Build more layers and dimension with some colour-coordinated flowers and the earlier prepared embellishments - wings and keys; attach using a hot glue gun.
Your mixed media canvas tags are ready!

If you'd like to see the whole tag-creating process... here is your chance:

Thank you for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Ewelina
